Living Well With Your Heart
Roo Lan continues our monthly Timely Talks health series with an important discussion about Heart Disease on July 17th beginning at 6:30 PM. Currently the #1 cause of death for both men and women in America, Heart Disease annually costs hundreds of billions of dollars in health care. Caring for one’s heart health is relevant for everyone whether diagnosed with heart disease or not. Come hear about lifestyle choices proven to benefit one’s heart health and how Mended Hearts is a great organization committed to ongoing cardiovascular education and support.
In 2004, due to a congenital issue, Diane Caputo, mother of eight young children, unexpectedly went through triple bypass heart surgery. A few years after her own recovery, she began visiting other recovering cardiac patients through the largest nationwide cardiovascular peer to peer group called Mended Hearts, Inc. As one who understands first hand, for the past 10 years she has been encouraging others with heart disease to live well and be supported.
