The event attracted 28 businesses from around Thurston County, representing a huge diversity of support services and information our senior population and their families may need in the coming years.
The keynote speaker for the event was L. Anthony Agtarap, M.D. of Olympia Orthopaedic Associates. Dr. Agtarap spoke about current treatments for Knee Arthritis, treatment options and more. Linda Terry of the Seniors Teens & Elders Project (STEP) engaged the audience with her “Dawn of a New Brain” presentation and one of the biggest highlights of the day was the performance by Seattle-based vocalist Naomi Morgan. Ms. Morgan performed a variety of Broadway show tunes, much to the delight of all!
Break Out Sessions were held throughout the event with presenters from the Timberland Library, Senior Services of South Sound and Natural Living Solutions. Of note was the donation box for Homeless Backpacks, an organization that provides food for homeless teenagers throughout Thurston County. Roo Lan has been gathering food & cash donations for this incredible cause throughout the summer.
Clair Ferris from Funeral Alternatives was our Photographer. For a full look at all his photos click HERE.
To top it off, lots of raffle prizes were awarded too! Between the breakout sessions, Dr. Agtarap and Naomi Morgan, this 4-hour event was jam packed with information and fun! In fact, the day was so successful, Roo Lan has already reserved the Lacey Community Center for next year’s Senior Health Fair (to be held on June 1, 2019)!! Don’t miss it!
