Activities Assistant (Skilled-Nursing)

Are you interested in joining a team of veteran caregivers who have been making a difference in the lives of people for more than 40 years? Roo Lan is seeking to add a new Activities Assistant to help with activities at our skilled-nursing center.

Location: Lacey, WA

Accountability: the Activities Assistant works under the supervision of the Activities Director, the Director of Nursing Assistant, or the Director of Nursing.

Shift: 32-hours, Day-Shift, Thur-Sun.

Qualifications: Complete CNA Class and receives certification in the State of Washington. Current CPR Certification. Prior experience working with seniors or in an activity planning capacity a plus.

Salary/Compensation: $15.00 per-hour base. Additional compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists the Activities Director with shopping and keeps activities’ inventory updated as needed.
  2. The Activities Assistant helps with all scheduled activities.
  3. Assists residents with out-of-facility trips as needed.
  4. Attends in-services & monthly staff meetings.
  5. Assists or escorts residents to and from activities through the skilled-nursing facility.
  6. Helps dietary with snacks & early a.m. coffee.
  7. Completes daily flow sheet charting & quarterly care plans as needed.
  8. The Activities Assistant helps with special activities set up by the Activities Director.
  9. Help with planning out the monthly activity calendar and newsletter.
  10. Helps residents with any cooking projects on the calendar.
  11. Report to nursing supervisor for any behavior, verbalization and changes in activity level
